Group Transport
We offer standard and accessible minibus hire to voluntary and community groups in Bexley. Groups must be established as 'not for profit' organisations
For example:
- Elderly persons groups
- Organisations for persons with disabilities
- Sports/recreation groups
- Social welfare
- Groups who benefit children and young people
- Groups whose activities benefit the Bexley community
Membership
Groups wishing to use our services must first become members of BATS.
Our annual membership fees are:
£30.00 per annum for an unfunded group.
£60.00 per annum for a funded group (full or part time paid employees)
Hire
As from 1st March 2013 the £10 booking administration fee for member groups making a minibus booking will be dropped from the BATS group charging schedule. We hope this will make group minibus bookings more affordable for outings being planned in the Spring and Summer, particularly for the smaller unfunded community groups in Bexley.
Where at all possible we encourage our member groups to nominate 1-2 drivers who will train to drive for your organisation. We will provide one free MiDAS training place, giving a nationally-recognised qualification in safe minibus driving.
A small pool of volunteer drivers are available on request, but bookings cannot be guaranteed unless we have a voluntary driver willing to drive for your group.
Groups with their own drivers that use our volunteers may be charged a £10.00 administration charge.
Hire charges are based on mileage, charged at £1.50 per mile for the first 30 miles and £1.35 per mile thereafter.
A Minimum Charge of £25.00 for up to a 8 hour hire or £50.00 for 8-24 hours.
If the mileage cost exceeds the minimum charge then only the mileage is payable.
Outside Bexley?
Groups in neighbouring boroughs that have no community transport scheme of their own may be eligible for membership at the discretion of the BATS trustee board for twice the normal membership fee.
