Hop 'n' Shop

‘BATS’ are working with London Borough of Bexley to provide a Food Accessibility Scheme for the Bexley borough. The aim of the service is to provide access to supermarkets, shops and markets. The service started in the summer of 2007 and benefits the elderly, disabled and parents with children under 5.

The service operates between 9am and 4:00pm, Tues, Weds and Fri and provides transport to local supermarkets, fresh food outlets and includes special out of borough trips on selected days. Pick ups and drop offs are made to the shoppers home or as close as we can get the bus where access is limited.

If you have severe mobility problems and require some assistance with your shopping there may be a volunteer shopper available to help you, please contact the office for further information.

The scheme operates on a member’s only basis with annual membership costing £20.00. Journeys must be pre-paid, with tickets available for purchase at a cost of £20.00 for 10 tickets (£2.00 each way) from the BATS office. The driver will not accept cash or sell tickets on the bus.

For further details or to join this service please contact us on 01322 311 333.
